Installation
Chrome / Edge / Brave
- Download and unzip the Chrome extension
- Open your browser and go to
chrome://extensions
- Enable "Developer mode" (toggle in top right corner)
- Click "Load unpacked"
- Select the unzipped extension folder
- The Context Capsule icon will appear in your toolbar
Firefox
- Download and unzip the Firefox extension
- Open Firefox and go to
about:debugging
- Click "This Firefox" in the left sidebar
- Click "Load Temporary Add-on"
- Select the
manifest.json file from the unzipped folder
- The Context Capsule icon will appear in your toolbar
Note: Temporary add-ons in Firefox need to be reloaded after browser restart. For permanent installation, the extension will be available on Firefox Add-ons in the future.
Setup
- Click the Context Capsule icon in your browser toolbar
- Enter your Context Capsule app URL (e.g.,
https://your-app.replit.app)
- Log in with your email and password
- You're ready to start saving pages!
How to Use
- Navigate to any web page you want to save
- Click the Context Capsule icon in your toolbar
- The page title and URL are captured automatically
- Add optional notes to provide context
- Add tags to help with organization
- Choose a folder (Plus tier and above)
- Click "Save to Capsule"
Troubleshooting
Can't connect to my account
- Verify your Context Capsule app URL is correct
- Make sure your app is running and accessible
- Check your login credentials
Page content not captured correctly
- Some websites block content extraction for security
- The extension captures the main content area (article/main sections)
- You can always add notes manually if content is missing
Privacy & Security
- Your login credentials are stored locally in your browser
- Page content is sent directly to your Context Capsule server
- No data is sent to third-party services
- The extension only activates when you click the icon
